About me
When I started my career in IT Recruitment, I had no idea about the various roles in IT and the world of software development. Most of the books I found on this topic were relatively old (from 2002 or 2007) and did not meet my needs in terms of current practices, practical experience, and modern definitions of various terms. As we know, the IT world changes rapidly, and so do IT roles and what stands behind them. Consequently, I began doing my own research: talking to IT specialists from companies I worked with, reading IT forums and online journals, watching videos, and more.
I drew upon my years of experience collaborating with clients such as Zalando, eBay, Idealo, HRS, and Klarna (while working for DIS AG, Modis IT Berlin). Over the years, I successfully filled many roles in UX and UI Design, Product Ownership, Product Management, iOS and Android Development, QA Engineering, SAP, and more.
I also created a few of my own websites to better understand how everything works in practice. In this way, I gained the knowledge and expertise to do my job more effectively, fill positions faster, and—most importantly—help people build fulfilling careers.
- Why did I make an online course and write a book
My practical experience has shown me that many recruiters entering the field of IT Recruitment, unfortunately, have either a general psychology education or no experience in recruitment at all, especially in IT. Most of them learn on the job or use “keywords”, never asking themselves what it all means. I thought it might be helpful to share my knowledge with others – with those who would like to learn more, do their job well, and achieve success. That is how my journey started. My online course participants on Udemy found it very useful and were wondering whether there is a book with the same information but in print form. So, the book has been written and published 😊 - Why I am creating a workshop program and how it will help you and your agency The next step, which seems quite logical to me now, is developing workshop programs for recruitment agencies or companies in need of recruitment services. If you would like to ensure that you have a team of professionals who are able to communicate with IT specialists in their own language, understand client needs, and help build successful, effective teams – then this workshop program is made for you.
My other role: IT project manager at SEO Revolution GmbH
Coaching IT recruiters is one part of my work. The other part is project management. At SEO Revolution GmbH, the Berlin digital agency my husband Toni founded in 2020, I manage client projects from the first briefing to the finished website. I coordinate timelines and feedback loops between clients, designers and developers.
The agency works in three areas. As an SEO agency in Berlin we help companies get found on Google. As a web design agency in Berlin we design websites that turn visitors into inquiries. And as a web development agency in Berlin we build custom websites and web applications.
Working inside real IT projects every day is also where a lot of the practical knowledge for my workshops comes from.
